Cookies and session storage are different
A cookie is a browser record that may be sent with requests to a website. Session storage is held locally for a browsing session and is not automatically attached to each request. Both can store information, so they should be described clearly rather than treated as interchangeable labels.
Editorial pages
The new article and information pages use a small script to open or close the mobile navigation. That script does not write cookies or local storage. Photos, fonts, and the visual identity are delivered as local website assets. No advertising or analytics tag has been added to these pages.
Previously published pages
Some original pages retain WordPress’s emoji support check. It can store a record called wpEmojiSettingsSupports in session storage with a test result and timestamp. Its purpose is to avoid repeating the browser capability test. The saved result is checked for age by the original script; the session storage itself follows your browser’s session behavior.
Hosting and linked services
A hosting service may have additional security or delivery behavior that depends on its configuration. External sites reached through source or project links control their own cookies and storage. Visiting those services is separate from reading a locally delivered article here. Consult their notices if you choose to follow a link.
Your browser controls
You can inspect or clear site data in your browser’s privacy or website settings. Clearing session storage may cause a capability check to run again on an original page. Blocking scripts can prevent a menu or slider from working, while the editorial article text remains available in HTML.
Changes to features
If analytics, embedded media, forms, or other services are introduced, this explanation should be reviewed against the actual behavior before those features are enabled. For questions about a particular page, use Contact Us. Related information is available in the Privacy Policy.
